Helping Students
Displaced By Hurricane
To assist students whose colleges were
affected by the national disaster in Louisiana,
Mississippi and Alabama, St. Ambrose University has
assembled a university response team to explore ways to
help them in continuing their education.
Team members Julie Haack, Meg
Halligan, Linda Hirsch, Jamie Loftus, Lori Rodrigues-Fisher
and Lew Sanborne are working in consultation with
President Rogalski to address these students’ needs
on a case-by-case basis.
If you’re a student seeking
assistance, please contact Meg Halligan,
director of admissions, at 563/333-6300 or by email at
HalliganMegF@sau.edu.
The Association of Catholic
Colleges & Universities (ACCU) and the National
Association of Independent Colleges & Universities (NAICU)
are posting updates on the status of the affected
institutions on their Web sites at
www.accunet.org and
www.naicu.edu. Colleges that were fortunate
not to receive the brunt of Hurricane Katrina are
assessing their ability to arrange exchange programs
or visiting student programs, allowing students to
enroll for the fall semester.
In the wake of this national
disaster, may we continue to unite together as a
community in prayer and strength for those in need,
both near and far.
