Head Coach Bridget Murphy

Bridget Murphy is in her fourth year as the head coach of the St. Ambrose Queen Bees softball team.

Murphy was a two-time First Team Midwest Classic All-Conference pick as a pitcher / first baseman at St. Ambrose. She was a two-time NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete and completed her undergraduate degree in three years. Murphy was named the top senior female athlete at St. Ambrose in 2000. Murphy was a team captain for the 2000 SAU squad that advanced to the NAIA National Tournament.

Murphy prepped at Davenport Assumption High School, where she was a two-time All-State selection and a finalist for both the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award and the Quad City Times Athlete of the Year award in 1997.

Prior to coaching at SAU, Murphy was the varsity softball coach at Assumption High School, a position she held from 2001 through 2004. Prior to that she was the sophomore coach for two seasons. Her 2001 Assumption team finished fifth in the state and recorded the school’s first 30-win season.
