Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in the Graduate Special Education Program at St. Ambrose University.  The structure of our program allows you maximum flexibility in obtaining a degree within a workable time frame.  Classes are held in the evening during the fall and spring and during the day in the summer to accommodate working professionals.

Two program options are available through the Graduate Special Education Program:

Option One – Professional Licensure
Option Two – Master of Education in Special Education

Our faculty provides instruction that combines practical, theoretical and research based approaches relative to assisting a community of special needs students and their families, in compassionate, innovative ways.

The St. Ambrose University Graduate Special Education Program prepares professionals with:

  • Student assessment techniques
  • Classroom intervention procedures
  • Consultation skills
  • The ability to establish positive communication with parents of special-needs students

The information on this web site is designed to provide you with an overview of our Graduate Special Education program and what we have to offer.  We look forward to assisting you as you explore your options.

Sincerely,

William E. Hitchings, Ph.D.
