Financial Aid

You may use financial aid from federal and state sources (except work-study grants) to pay for study abroad programs.

Grants and loans from federal and state sources of financial aid (except work-study) may be applied to all study abroad programs in the fall and spring semesters.

Students may take all of their SAU scholarship awards (minimum of $1000) for one semester to the following study abroad sites:

SAU students enrolled in Central College Abroad programs may take up to 60% of their SAU scholarship package (including Presidential and Ambrose scholarships).

SAU students enrolled in the Blaise Pascal University International Business with French program may take up to 40% of their SAU scholarship package (including Presidential and Ambrose scholarhips).

For all other institutions, students studying abroad for an entire semester are eligible to take up to $1000 of their SAU scholarship awards with them.

Students are able to take these SAU funds only once in the course of their undergraduate careers at SAU.

You are unable to take SAU scholarship awards with you to pay for short-term faculty-led programs.  There are alternative loan programs available for students studying abroad during the Winterim, May Interim, and Summer sessions.

You are unable to use tuition remission or tuition exchange awards for any study abroad program.
