Financial Aid

You may use financial aid from federal and state sources (except work-study grants) to pay for study abroad programs.

Grants and loans from federal and state sources of financial aid (except work-study) may be applied to all study abroad programs in the fall and spring semesters.

Students may take all of their SAU financial aid for one semester to the following study abroad sites:

For all other institutions, students studying abroad for an entire semester are eligible to take up to $1000 of their SAU institutional aid with them.

Students are able to take these SAU funds only once in the course of their undergraduate careers at SAU.

You are unable to take SAU financial aid with you to pay for short-term programs.  There are alternative loan programs available for students studying abroad during the Winterim, May Interim, and Summer sessions.
