Financial Aid
You are unable to use a payment plan to pay for a study
abroad trip. All study abroad trips must be paid for in advance.
But, you
may use financial aid from federal
and state
sources (except work-study grants) to pay for study abroad programs.
Grants
and loans from federal and state sources of financial aid (except work-study)
may be applied to all study abroad programs in the fall and spring semesters.
Students may take all of their SAU
financial aid for one semester to the following study abroad sites:
For all other institutions, students
studying abroad for an entire semester are eligible to take up to $1000 of
their SAU institutional aid with them.
Students are able to take SAU financial
aid funds abroad only once in the course of their
undergraduate careers at SAU.
You are unable to take SAU
financial aid with you to pay for short-term programs.
There
are alternative loan programs available for students studying abroad during
the Winterim, May Interim, and Summer sessions.
