Setting
The University of Veliko Turnovo in Bulgaria is a
residential, four-year liberal arts institution located in
Veliko Turnovo, in northern Bulgaria.
Host Institution
UVT currently enrolls 11,000 students, and is
one of the country's major universities. The
university offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in 64
fields of study, and it is fully accredited by the Ministry
of Higher Education in Bulgaria.
Academic Opportunities
The program is designed for students interested in Teaching
English to Speakers of Other Languages, and to students
interested in Slavic/Baltic Studies. Students teach at
the university under the supervision of faculty members from
the English Department.
Housing and Student Activities
Students are housed on-campus in a dorm, or
in an off-campus apartment. There is an on-site
orientation during the first week of the program and during
the semester there are guided tours of surrounding cities.
