Oct. 21, 2004 Located right off of 53rd and 18th streets in Bettendorf, Beaver’s East is a restaurant everyone should experience and will enjoy. The décor alone will leave you with enough conversation for the night. The log cabin ambiance sets in before you even cross the threshold. As you enter, seating is to the left and right of the bar, which is in the center of the restaurant. Your attention is immediately on all the animals located throughout the restaurant. Endless mounted moose and deer heads border the walls along with stuffed beavers, artistically placed throughout the serving areas. Any taxidermist would feel right at home. Before orders are placed, a popcorn appetizer is at your fingertips before you can say, “I’ll have a cabin burger.” Drinks on the menu include Pepsi products, lemonade, milk and different juices. The most convenient thing about Beaver’s East is their wide variety of foods. Everyone has had that night when one friend wants Italian, one wants American grill, and you want Mexican. Beaver’s East caters to just that type of night. The appetizers alone include everything from chicken quesadillas to buffalo wings. Dinner choices include lasagna, buffalo chicken salad, award winning lumberjack or grizzly pizza, a chicken prairie or grinder sandwich and much, much more. To finish the meal off there is a short list of desserts including an apple pandowdy, which is a cross between apple pie and cheesecake. Chocolate cake and caramel apple pie are also offered. The buffalo chicken salad was fantastic and reasonably priced. I recommend starting off with the chicken quesadillas and then, for dessert, try the chocolate cake and watch the chocolate sauce ooze out of the middle after your first bite.
