With Homecoming Week in full swing, students can expect to see some familiar activities, as well as some new things to come in the near future.

Just this past week many events were held around campus for Homecoming Week.

The Campus Activity Board (CAB) spent long hours preparing for the week-long school spirited events, including the coronation on Friday night, Taste of Ambrose on Saturday afternoon, and the dance on Saturday night.

“We  have tried some new CAB events this year such as mystery Bingo and Musical Chairs,” President of CAB  Heidi Haessig said. “We are really striving to be different this year and we are trying new things.”

The CAB executive board is made up of ten members, but they are actively recruiting more ‘cabbie” members so they can solidify a group of people dedicated to work hard for CAB.

“The way we set up cabbie members is new this year,” said CAB President Heidi Haessig. “And our publicity is becoming more creative.”

Former executive Beth Pfeiffer said that CAB is planning an event every week to give students more options of what to do on the weekends.  "We want to offer more diversity in our programs," Pfeiffer said.

In the past, CAB is known for bringing in musicians and bands to perform, usually on Friday and Saturday nights. However, this year they have added a series of low-budget events, which can include games or crafts.

“We have tried some new CAB events this year such as mystery bingo and musical chairs," Haessig said.  "We are really striving to be different this year and try new things.”

Some upcoming events include Mentalist Craig Karges on October 8, and Guitarist Tamara Bedricky on the 16.  Check out the bulletin boards around campus and watch for new flyers on upcoming activities.
