Queen Bees win six in a row

FOREST CITY, Iowa – For the sixth straight year, the St. Ambrose women’s golf team has been crowned as Midwest Collegiate Conference champions.

The Queen Bees dominated the rest of the field, winning by 25 strokes and placing all five girls in the top 10. In what amounted to a passing of the torch ceremony, SAU senior Nicole Keeney and freshman Michelle Machione tied for second place at 23-over par for the two-day tournament.

Helping SAU to the runaway win was junior Kelly Jansen who carded a two-day total of 168 to finish right behind Keeney and Machione, while freshman Caitlin Childers fired a 182 to finish ninth.

Keeney, Machione and Jansen were also honored as All-Conference performers.
