Hein Named MCC Golfer of the Week

Kenzie Hein was named the Midwest Collegiate Conference Women's Golfer of the
Week today after winning the MCC Preview Invitational on Sunday.
Hein fired an 81 at Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo, Iowa, to earn
individual medalist honors. The second day of play was canceled due to the
weather.
Hein, from Iowa City, Iowa, helped the Bees win the tournament by 15 shots.
SAU shot a 343 to win the eight-team tournament.
Through the fall, Hein is averaging an 84.92 over 12 rounds. Along with
winning the MCC Invite, she has earned six top-10 finishes over nine events.
Hein was one of four SAU student-athletes to earn a weekly player of the week
honor. John Darmody was named the MCC cross country harrier of the week while
Jim Forner (defensive) and James Hannah-White (special teams) were recognized by
the Mid-States Football Association.
Bees Win Shortened MCC Invitational

St. Ambrose won the Midwest Collegiate Conference Women's Golf Invitational
Sunday after Monday's round was canceled due to the weather conditions. The Bees
finished with a 343 to defeat second-place Viterbo (358) by 15 shots.
Kenzie Hein was the individual medalist after shooting an 81 to lead the
Bees. Caiti Childers took third with an 84 and Krisha Knary tied for ninth place
with an 88. Megan Marolf shot a 90 and Ashlie Justice finished with a 99.
With the cold conditions and possibility of rain/snow, Monday's play was
called off at Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo, Iowa.
SAU Struggles to Second Place at Clarke

Krisha Knary finished fifth overall with an 89 at the Clarke Fall
Invitational Sunday. She helped the Queen Bees to a second-place showing in the
six-team field.
Knary was the only SAU golfer to shoot under 90. Kenzie Hein shot a 90 to
finish sixth, Tori Bown fired a 92 to take eighth and Caiti Childers took 10th
with a 93. Ashlie Justice finished with a 108.
Despite the high scores, St. Ambrose (364) finished only two shots behind
Clarke (362) for the team title.
Meghan Ward led a second SAU team with a 97. Megan Marolf (99), Caitlin Hora
(101), Ashley Voelliger (103) and Antonina Costa (117) also played for the Bees.
Childers Named MCC Golfer of the Week

Junior Caiti Childers was named the Midwest Collegiate Conference Women's
Golfer of the Week today after her performance at the Millikin Fall Classic.
Childers, from Elgin, Ill., helped lead St. Ambrose to a ninth-place showing
at the Millikin tournament last weekend. After an opening-round 86, she fired an
80 to finish 24th individually. SAU shot a 677 (340-337) as a team.
This season, Childers is averaging an 82.4 through 10 fall rounds.
Childers was one of four St. Ambrose student athletes to win the weekly
conference award, joining Lauren Aderman (volleyball setter), Dusty Drenth
(men's golf) and Allison Bevenue (women's soccer defensive).
SAU Finishes 19th at Millikin Fall Classic

Caiti Childers led St. Ambrose with a two-round 166 to help the Queen Bees
take ninth place at the 19-team Millikin Fall Classic this weekend. The Bees
finished with a 677 (340-337).
Childers fired an 80 on Sunday after her opening-round 86 to finish 24th
individually. Ashlie Justice tied for 28th with a 167 (84-83) and Kenzie Hein
was another shot back with a 168 (84-84). Tori Bown carded a 176 (86-90) and
Krisha Knary shot a 192 (91-101).
Playing as individuals, Meghan Ward shot a 186 (95-91) and Caitlin Hora
finished with a 217 (116-101).
Rend Lake Community College won the tournament with a 627 total (312-315).
Bees Win Own Tournament by 18 Shots

Caiti Childers fired a two-round 161 to lead St. Ambrose to an 18-shot
victory at the SAU Fighting Bee Classic this weekend. The first round of the
two-day event was played at Glynns Creek Golf Course before Sunday's round was
played at Emeis Golf Course.
St. Ambrose held only a six-shot lead after a first round 333, but the Bees
finished with a 330 on Sunday for a 663 total.
Childers opened with an 81 and followed with an 80 for the 161 total to tie
for third place. Teammate Tori Bown was a shot back with a 162 (80-82) to take
fifth. Kenzie Hein put together rounds of 82 and 84 for a 166 total to finish
eighth. Krisha Knary (90-84=174), Ashlie Justice (91-85=176) and Megan Marolf
(94-93=187) rounded out the SAU scores.
Meghan Ward led a second SAU team with a 187 (91-96) and Caitlin Hora was a
shot back with a 188 (90-98). Caitlin Carney (103-96=199), Lauren Bryner
(102-106=208), Antonina Costa (102-107=209) and Chloe Aguirre (111-103=214)
rounded out the group that finished ninth.
Ashford's Jordan Davis was the individual medalist with a 153 (80-73) helping
the Saints to a third-place showing with a 689 (347-342). St. Francis (Ill.)
took second with a 681 (339-342).
SAU will compete in the Millikin University Invitational Saturday and Sunday
in Decatur, Ill.
SAU Wins Iowa Wesleyan Invitational
Sept. 18, 2009
Tori Bown led four SAU golfers with top-10 finishes as the Bees won the Iowa
Wesleyan Invitational Friday at the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course.
Bown finished fourth with an 82 while Kenzie Hein took fifth with an 83.
Ashlie Justice and Krisha Knary tied for ninth with 88s.
The Bees fired a 341 as a team to win the six-team tournament by six shots.
Ashford was second with a 347 while St. Francis (Ill.) took third with a 348.
Caiti Childers (90) and Megan Marolf (91) also competed for SAU.
Bees Finish Eighth at Wartburg Invitational

Caiti Childers opened with a 77 and followed with an 83 to place 11th with a
160 at the two-day Wartburg Fall Invitational in Waverly, Iowa. Childers helped
the Queen Bees to an eighth-place finish in the 22-team event. SAU shot a
346-337=683.
Kenzie Hein finished in a tie for 29th place with a 171 (87-84). After a 94
on Saturday, Ashlie Justice recovered with an 82 on Sunday to shoot a 176. Tori
Bown fired an 88-92 to finish with a 180 and Krisha Knary shot a 98-88 for a
186.
Washington-St. Louis won with a 631 total (325-306).
Four Top-10 Finishers Lead to Another Win

Four St. Ambrose golfers finished in the top 10 individually as the Bees won
the nine-team Augustana Lady Viking Fall Classic at Emeis Golf Course Thursday.
SAU shot a 339 to win by 14 shots over Ashford (353).
Caiti Childers narrowly missed individual medalist honors, finishing a shot
off the lead with an 80. After a 39 on the front nine, Tori Bown settled for
fifth place with an 84. Kenzie Hein shot an 87 to tie for eighth and Krisha
Knary finished with an 88 to finish in a tie for 10th. Meghan Ward fired a 91
and Megan Marolf shot a 94.
Caitlin Hora shot a 97 playing as an individual.
SAU will compete at the Wartburg Invitational at the Centennial Oaks Golf
Course in Waverly, Iowa, Saturday and Sunday.
Bown Named MCC Women's Golfer of the Week

Tori Bown
was named the Midwest Collegiate Conference Women's Golfer of the Week today
after opening the season with individual medalist honors at the Augustana
Invitational.
Bown, a senior from Rockford, Ill., shot an 80 at Emeis Golf Course to win
the Augustana Invite by two strokes over teammate Caiti Childers. She helped the
Bees win the seven-team field by four shots.
This weekend, Bown fired an 88 at the Illinois College Invitational. SAU
finished in seventh place in the 17-team event.
Bown was one of four SAU student-athletes named conference player of the
week. Molly Rockrohr was named the MCC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the
Week, Lauren Aderman was named the MCC Volleyball Setter of the Week, and Jim
Forner was named the Mid-States Football Association Midwest League Defensive
Player of the Week.
SAU Finishes Seventh in Rain-Shortened Event
Sept. 5, 2009
Caiti Childers shot an 85 to lead a bunched group of St. Ambrose golfers at
the Illinois College Invitational Saturday. Kenzie Hein, Ashlie Justice and
Krisha Knary each shot an 87 and Tori Bown was just another shot back at 88.
St. Ambrose finished seventh as a team in the 17-team tournament at the Links
Golf Course in Jacksonville, Ill., with a 346. The event was cut down to one
round after Sunday's action was washed out.
Playing as individuals, Meghan Ward and Megan Marolf shot matching 92s.
St. Ambrose will compete in the Augustana Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 10.
Queen Bees
Open Fall with a Victory
Aug. 29, 2009
Tori Bown earned individual medalist honors with an 80 to help St. Ambrose
win the Augustana Invitational Saturday. The Queen Bees shot a 339 as a team to
defeat Viterbo (343) by four shots.
Caiti Childers carded an 82 to share second place, just two strokes behind
Bown. Kenzie Hein fired an 86 to earn a share of sixth place and Krisha Knary
shot a 91 to tie for 10th. Meghan Ward had a 93 and Megan Marolf finished with a
94 for St. Ambrose.
Caitlin Hora led a second SAU team to a fifth-place finish in the seven-team
event. Hora fired a 92. Caitlin Carney (99), Ashley Voelliger (100), Antonina
Costa (103), Chloe Aguirre (110) and Lauren Bryner (113) also played for the
second Bee group.
SAU will compete at the Illinois College Invitational Saturday and Sunday.
